We’re officially kicking off our year of the 1980s with our Easter episode, discussing The Tale of the Bunny Picnic (1986). We also stay in 1986 to talk about some music from the Billboard Pop Chart released on April 5th of that year.
Throughout 2026 we’ll be visiting the ’80s, leading up to our Christmas season, where we’ll cover all ’80s movies, TV shows, music, and more. We’ll also take a side trip this summer to take a deep dive into Dickens and A Christmas Carol.
It’ll be a fun year. Be sure to reach out if you have any comments or suggestions!

Last month we shared 10 songs that were featured on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart in January 1986. Now we’re sharing our personal Top 10 songs from 1986. These tracks alternate between Rusty and Mike, counting down from 10 to 1, with a few other sound clips from 1986 mixed in along the way.
Notes:
We tried not to double up bands, but with Run-DMC and Book of Love, it couldn’t be avoided. Sorry for hitting you with three Book of Love tracks in the past few months (including our 2025 Thanksgiving playlist).
Shout out to Patreon supporter Kent for randomly sending me the Green “Gotta Getta Record Out” 7-inch in the mail one day a few years ago. Neither of us had heard that one, and it went right into my rotation after hearing it.
If you’d prefer this mix as a YouTube playlist, here’s a link:

Our Halloween Horror Marathon returns, and my old Body Count Horror Podcast co-host Christopher joins me to review Disconnected (1984). We also revisit candy and cereal fantasy drafts that we did in 2017. At the last minute, we decided to stream this episode live on Prankcast and were joined by a bunch of friends in the chat. It was a lot of fun!
Also, visit our blog to follow along with all the horror films we’ll be watching from now until Halloween. We hope to be back with another horror episode in October and may livestream again!
We’re celebrating Leon Day and the 4th of July with episodes of Workaholics and Saved by the Bell. There is also a Belinda Carlisle song and some Saved by the Bell trivia.

It’s Easter, and we’re here to discuss The First Easter Rabbit (1976), other Easter movies/specials, candy, and Cracker Barrel. We also say goodbye to Skype!
We’re planning episodes for May and June, so we’ll be back soon.
Also, you can hear us on the latest episode of the Totally Rad Christmas Podcast, accepting an award for the best 2024 episode covering a special where someone is in a trash can (or something like that!)
Throughout 2024 we kept up with Rusty’s progress on his 50-year project, where he spent the whole year writing and recording FIFTY songs, one for each year of his life. At the end of the livestream for the final episode of the season last month, we debuted this song that he wrote about our podcast for the 2019 track.
Today is Rusty’s birthday, and you can grab all 50 tracks here!
