As we arrive, the snow falls softly over the Alps, blanketing the jagged peaks and pine-covered slopes. This is a place of such breathtaking winter scenery, it is like a living snow globe. There is a chill in the air but, even more so, there is the hardy aroma of … melted cheese. Yes, this episode the Festive Fans are visiting Switzerland, with its small mountain villages and wooden chalets glowing with light, it is a special place that always feels like Christmas.
Switzerland is so picturesque, the whole country looks like the set of a Hallmark movie. You can find twinkling lights, cozy cabins, and mountains that look like they are frosted in powdered sugar. Outside, church bells ring throughout the valleys, and even the cows seem like they’re part of the holiday decor.
However, as we learn from tonight’s movie, The Very Last Christmas, there can be something unsettling about the breathtaking beauty of Switzerland. The Alps look serene, but the snow, mountains, and winter can also bring danger. This same landscape that inspires awe can also be destructive. We are cautioned not to be fooled by the peaceful winter scene—it’s a reminder that even the most beautiful places have threats, hidden beneath the surface. The joy of the season may feel richer when set against the vast, humbling presence of the Alps.
So, join us as we celebrate the Christmas customs and traditions of Switzerland, but also where we explore the incredible landscape. The mountains are not only symbols of splendor, but also of respect. Avalanches, sudden and unstoppable, remind us that nature is never fully tamed. This episode is a series of contrasts — of party and peril and mirth and menace. The Festive Fans are on a festive journey, but nothing says “holiday cheer” like admiring a beautiful alpine slope… from a safe distance, preferably indoors, and while enjoying some Guetzli.

It’s that time of year again—the most important proceeding on the Christmas Cousins calendar: The Trial of Cousin Seth.
After completing Year Three of his journey to embrace Christmas—and, more ambitiously, all seasons—the question now stands before the court: did he do enough?
Last year, Seth earned a hard-fought promotion from Seasonal Sophomore to Jolly Junior. But this year, the stakes are higher. Will he rise to the rank of Santa Senior? Or will the court find cause for demotion… back to Jolly Junior, Seasonal Sophomore, Festive Freshman—or, in the most extreme scenario, a full reset to Kringle Kindergarten?
To ensure a fair and balanced hearing, we’ve assembled a truly formidable bench:
Judge Bran (returning), of Deck The Hallmark and Gilmore the Merrier
Supreme Court Justice Dan, brought in to maintain order should things spiral (they will)
Representing the case:
Prosecutor: Joe the Christmas Aficionado
Defense Counsel: Festive Cousin Bob of Festive Four Film Fans…a last minute no-show…hmmm???
Voice of the People / Bailiff: Cousin Lee, King of All Superfans
Plus, a surprise witness!!!
And at the center of it all… the defendant himself: Cousin Seth.
Evidence will be presented. Arguments will be made. Emotions may run high. The Christmas spirit will be tested.

Merry Christmas! We have a brand new reaction video out on the Christmas Every Day YouTube channel! We reacted to “The House of Broken Gingerbread” by The Monkees, and it surprised us! This recommendation was given to us by listener Randy Franklin. There’s a link below for the reaction video, so please go check it out!
Randy has a band called “Randy Franklin and the Sardines”, and they’re very talented musicians themselves! They have a great Christmas song called “Tinsel”, and you can find that on YouTube at the link below.
Merry Christmas!

In the second fantastically festive offseason episode of the hit holiday podcast Christmas Countdown, hosts Eric Petersen and Danny Jordan are back with Producer Chris for a Merry March hang that’s equal parts cozy, chaotic, and completely Christmas.
The guys kick things off by catching up on everything that’s been happening in their lives since the last episode — family fun, memorable moments, and the stories that somehow always turn into balsam banter.
Then… it’s game time. A brand-new Christmas-themed guessing game enters the chat, bringing surprises, laughs, and just the right amount of competitive chaos.
But the real star of the show?
🎡 THE WINTER WHEEL OF WONDERMINT 🎡
The fellas spin the wheel five times, with each spin randomly selecting a festive topic they’ll dive into — from Christmas decor and holiday foods to Christmas wardrobe and beyond. No one knows what’s coming next… and that’s exactly what makes it so merry.
And of course, in true Christmas Countdown fashion, expect plenty of random holiday (and non-holiday) tangents, nostalgic detours, and laugh-out-loud moments that make this podcast feel like Christmas all year long.
Follow, rate & reviewChristmas Countdown wherever you’re listening — it helps keep the Christmas spirit alive year-round!

It’s been a hectic start to the year here at “Tis the Podcast” Headquarters—between kids, work, home life, accidents, and everything in between—so episodes have been a bit inconsistent this first quarter. Not wanting to miss another week, though, Anthony (sadly flying solo without Thom and Julia) invited Santa Matt from “North Pole Radio” and Ashley from “The Christmas Chapters Podcast” to join him for a special episode that, while a little light on Christmas, dives into something many of you care about: “Harry Potter”.
That’s right! This week, the trio sits down to break down HBO Max’s first teaser trailer for “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”—the upcoming television adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s beloved story about the boy wizard and his magical journey at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Tune in as they tackle the controversies surrounding the series—from Rowling’s personal views to the race-swapping of certain characters and everything in between—while also debating whether this adaptation is even necessary. They share their reactions to this first official look and go shot-by-shot through the trailer, comparing what’s shown to both the original novel and the 2001 film.
So sit back, relax, and enjoy this fun, geeky episode! And be sure to let us know your thoughts on this new take on Harry Potter and his world. One thing’s for sure: we here at “Tis the Podcast” are hyped. With a Christmas 2026 premiere on the horizon, it’s only making us even more excited for the most wonderful time of the year!
As always, thank you all for your love and support! 🎅🏻🎄🎁 🦌🦉⛄️🚂🔔 🤶🏻 🎀 ❄️ 👓 🧹 🪄 🏰 ❤️ 📺

Jeff and Jay sit down to try to figure out what exactly happened in The Bride. Were any of the five plots worthwhile? Why was Christian Bale there? Who greenlit this? One thing is for certain, it’s a theater kid’s dream!

Then we take a look at some Christmas related Guinness World Records. How many candy canes can one man fit into his beard? You’ll find out.
Next up is Do You Hear What I Hear and Bob Baker looks at why us Brits refer to the police as Bobbies.
This episode’s version of A Christmas Carol is very short and is a sketch from Saturday Night Live called Scrudge. It’s worth a look, so here’s a link:
We also have a short What The Dickens, and I discuss the word ‘hello’.
Then Bob is back with Where Are You Christmas? and this time he’s found it in Texas.

In last episode’s Christmas Quiz I did pretty poorly, in this episode’s Christmas Quiz I did even worse. Make sure to send in your scores.
The recommendation is the film version of the book Round Ireland with a Fridge by Tony Hawks, which is the book I recommended last episode. The film isn’t great, but you can watch it for free on YouTube:
