Tis the Podcast

Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! We hope all of our Canadian listeners had a great Canada Day, and all of our American listeners had a great 250th Fourth of July! As we are officially past the Fourth, now, you know what that means – it’s officially Spooky Season! We don’t make the rules – we just enforce them!

That said, “Tis the Podcast” won’t be going full spooky until September 1st! As such, after our usual pre-show, catch-up banter, Julia, Thom, and Anthony continue their journey through Stars Hollow by once again talking a show they all love: “Gilmore Girls“! For those following along at home, the episodes discussed this week are:

Season 2, Episode 10: The Bracebridge Dinner

and

Season 7, Episode Episode 11: Santa’s Secret Stuff

Trust us when we say, this one fun, festive episode that is sure to put you in the holiday spirit and help simulate Christmas for you on these ridiculously hot, Summer Days!

So settle back, relax, and enjoy! And, as always, thanks for your love and support, y’all! 🎅🏻🎄🎁 🦌🦉⛄️🚂🔔 🤶🏻 🎀 ❄️

Closer to Christmas

🎄 Well, them podcast boys have run into another Scrooge Sunday, and this time, the ghosts from “A Christmas Carol” are haunting Boss Hogg in the Dukes of Hazzard’s Saturday morning cartoon counterpart.

🎙️ Michael DiGiovanni and new guest Ken Kessler from The Sounds of Christmas join the ride through Christmas past, present, and future as the Dukes take a holiday from their race around the world in an episode that made us wish they’d get back to racing.

📺 You can find “A Dickens of a Christmas” on the Internet Archive.

Total Christmas

Hello you beautiful people!

We’ve tried this before and we’re doing it again. Listener Jason Matuziak has sent me a bunch of songs that he tells me are classic songs at Christmas in the US.  I’ll let you know if I’ve heard any of them.

Then Bob Baker is here with Where Are You Christmas? and this time he’s found it in Levenworth, Washington in the US thanks to listener Nettie Tebeau.

Then it’s The Christmas Quiz. I managed 8, although in the episode I claim it was 9 (mistakes were made). Make sure to email in your score.

Then Bob returns and it’s a bit of a milestone because Bob has recorded 100 segments of Do You Hear What I Hear? This one is extra special and he mashes all 100 hundred together in a lovely little rhyme.

Check out Bob’s podcast here:  https://4fpodcast.buzzsprout.com

Then it’s this episodes version of A Christmas Carol and it’s a very loose version indeed. It’s a special stage episode of The Honeymooners from 1977. I watched it on Amazon Prime, but here’s some more info:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0445437/

This episode’s recommendation is the board game Telestrations. It was recommmended to us by Shelli Arnold and it’s tons of fun, plue you don’t have to pay to see who wins, you can just play it for laughs, so the kids don’t get in a strop.

PARENTAL WARNING: DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE WITH CHILDREN PRESENT!

What’s up, dudes? It’s July, and it’s ridiculously hot, so we’re gonna have a watch-along party for the Rankin Bass classic “Frosty the Snowman”. I’ve got CJ Bélanger from Rose Suchak Ladder, Jeff Loftin from Lost Christmas podcast, Anthony Caruso from ‘Tis the Podcast, Santa Ambassador Matt Spaulding from North Pole Radio, and Jeremy Phelps the Alamo City Santa with me to provide commentary and enjoy the ride!

The story chronicles the experiences of Frosty the Snowman, an anthropomorphic being of precipitation who magically comes to life one Christmas. Embraced by the town’s children because they created him, Frosty decides to escape the sweltering heat of the south and head to the North Pole. Throughout, he’s chased Thunderbolt Ross-style by Prof. Hinkle, the Hogwarts reject. Unfortunately, the subpar magician even traps the enchanted snowman in a greenhouse which causes him to melt. Luckily, Santa Claus rescues the snowman and reanimates him with eldritch winter sorcery. He also forces the treacherous professor to write lines until he repents.

Hogwarts flunkie? Check. All-powerful Santa? Yep. Sideshow Bob-level of vengeance plots? Messy, messy, messy! So grab your magic hat, pull out the super smart rabbit, and bellywhop to this episode on “Frosty the Snowman!”
