What’s up, dudes? John Candy was a treasure! In fact, we were privileged to have him not only for SCTV and numerous comedy films, but also for his animated Saturday morning cartoon. I’ve got Robert Nicholas from Behind the Bells here with me to talk all about the “Christmas in July” episode of Camp Candy!
John is teaching the kids how to return a serve, when it reminds him of a basketball game between Alex and Rick. When Rick talks about getting new basketball sneakers for Christmas, they decide to turn Camp Candy into a winter wonderland and celebrate Christmas in July. They trim the tree, sing Christmas carols, and freeze the swimming pool with the A/C unit. To complete the look, Rick took Vanessa’s hair mousse to frost the windows. Unfortunately, Vanessa acts like a real witch, goblin (get it?) up her chocolates and refusing to share.
Aftwr falling fast asleep, she dreams that she’s Princess Vanessa, being waited on by the counselors and campers. The Spirit of Last Month visits her and takes her to watch big canoe race to remind her of her friends. The Spirits of This Month show her Camp Candy in disarray. The campers are miserable because of her less than regal attitude. Finally, the Spirit of Next Month shows her the deserted, barren camp. The lake is polluted, Vanessa is completely alone in a hovel, and Rex DeForest III appears to bulldoze her house and evict her.
Vanessa wakes up and hugs everyone. She offers the last 2 chocolates to Rick and the campers. They all sing “Deck the Hall” by campfire under the Christmas tree, and Nurse Molly kisses John under the mistletoe.
Canoe races? Check. Obligatory “A Christmas Carol” episode? Yep. Talking chocolates hallucinations? Definitely! So grab your tennis racket, paint your windows with mousse, and canoe into this episode!

Then we take a look at Cozy Little Christmas by Katy Perry. It was a question in last week’s quiz, and I thought I’d never heard of it, turns out I had and it’s not as obscure as I thought. Plus the video is fun.

Plus, we want to try some of that hot and sweet cabbage soup Bob is a bit unsatified with the end of the movie, so we just distract him with this episode’s song. You put this holiday burner on and you’ll forget all about the movie. As we like to say in Season 2, “Are you 4Fing kidding me?”

But is the movie really that bad? Is there any semblance of heart or holiday cheer to make this one worth watching? Well, you’ll just have to tune in to find out! One thing’s for certain though: regardless of the film’s quality, this is yet another fun, festive episode of “Tis the Podcast” you want to be sure not to miss!

Synopsis
In the first 1987 episode, red team and blue team content with an image of a bear dressed in a Santa costume stuck in a chimney. Blue team pulls away with an early lead and searches three rooms to the red team’s one. In the second round, both teams search an image of skateboarder for hidden items. Again, blue team dominates and earns the right to search 3 rooms compared the red team’s one. Blue team wins and runs the Room to Room Romp, which takes the form of the twelve days of Christmas. Unfortunately, they come up short.
In the second episode, the two opposing teams must discover the hidden objects within an image of an oversized Hanukkah dreidel. Both red and blue teams get to search two rooms. The second image is the announcer Harvey in a Santa suit. The blue team earns the right to search one room while the red team gets to search two. The red team finds the secret room and wins a trip to Disney World. They lose the final round, however.
Santa Bear? Yup. Obstacle helmets? Check. Hanukkah tie in? Only if it’s hidden under a latke. So put on your helmet, grab your light pen, and circle the object to this episode on “Finders Keepers!”

This movie, which first introduced the world to Mia Goth’s already iconic Maxine Minx, features a group of actors that set out to make an adult film in rural Texas under the noses of the reclusive hosts of the farm they’re staying at. However, when the elderly couple catches their young guests in the act, the cast finds themselves in a desperate fight for their lives.
Listen as Anthony and Cookie dive deep into the plot of this modern horror classic, explore its themes of aging and lost opportunities, laugh over the absurdity of the plot, which features two eighty-year-old slashers the script tries to convince us are formidable, and much, much more!
