Happy August, Christmas Fanatics! We’re one month closer to our favorite time of year and the elves couldn’t be more excited!

To kick off the last stretch of summer before the Ber Months (!!!), Anthony, Julia, and Thom are joined by Gerry D of “Totally Rad Christmas” for another double feature of an episode in which we cover the Christmas episodes of HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (Season 3, Episode 9, “Mary, Joseph, and Larry”) and TruTV’s hit-comedy “I’m Sorry” (Season 2, Episode 4, “Couple’s Massage”). As you can imagine from the shows discussed, this episode is definitely not  be the most appropriate one for tiny ears – no matter how much we attempt to tiptoe around certain subject matter – so do your best to keep yourself on the nice list and listen away from any children who might be around! Merry Christmas in July, everybody! (And on behalf of the entire “Christmas Podcast Network”, Merry Gerry in July!) Can you believe we’re officially five months away from Christmas? This year is flying!

As it tends to happen to the best of us around the holidays themselves, “Tis the Podcast’s” Christmas in July plans were derailed this year! Originally, Anthony was writing an original radio drama with listener Rebecca Boll for the elves, their fellow Christmas podcast hosts, and other friends of the show to perform – but it didn’t get finished in time. (Stay tuned for the actual Christmas season later this year!) And then, the elves wanted to put together a live-read of everyone’s favorite Christmas film, “Elf“, but due to miscommunication and scheduling conflicts, that plan fell through at the last minute. But, wanting to deliver something to all of y’all to mark the summer holiday today, Julia, Thom, and Anthony are joined by Gerry Davila of “Totally Rad Christmas“, Todd Killian of “Christmas Clatter“, Ron Hogan of “Film Strip Podcast“, and Claude Bélanger of “Christmas Conversations” to honor Christmas in July!

The result is the most chaotic conversation that has ever occurred in “Tis the Podcast’s” four year run! Just some of the topics that come up in today’s off-the-walls, hilarious episode (which is naturally filled with lots of trolling) include:

Though there’s some debate and trolling regarding who actually put this cartoon on the list, the elves are all in agreement over its quality, and it begs the question: has “Tis the Podcast” hit a new low? Also discussed in this episode – restaurants that the hosts only tend to visit during the holiday season!

Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! This week, the elves are joined by Kendall Farrae of “For Forks Sake” podcast to journey to “Schitt’s Creek” and cover the one holiday episode of the beloved Canadian comedy, Season 4, Episode 13, “Merry Christmas, Johnny Rose”!

In this laugh-a-minute, quote-filled episode, listen as the elves discuss their histories with this brilliant show, what makes it so special, their favorite projects the cast have participated in in the past, and much more. And not only do they answer whether or not this episode of TV is actually a Christmas special and has a Linus moment, but Julia must also answer – as a newcomer who has never experienced this sitcom before, was it good enough to make her want to watch the entire series?

And in addition to all of the “Schitt’s Creek” talk, there’s discussion about the “Twilight Saga“, the elves address listener Danielle Essary’s suggestion that they dedicate every October to covering Halloween content instead of Christmas content, and they answer the question of the week posed in the prior two episodes: “Is there a non-Christmas movie that’s not even set at Christmas that you watch every year around the holidays?”

Happy Leon Day, Christmas Fanatics! We are officially halfway to the big day itself! As of tomorrow, we will be closer to Christmas 2021 than Christmas 2020, and if that’s not something for us to celebrate and get excited about, we don’t know what is!

Is it filled with holiday cheer, or does this sap all joy from the proceedings? Are Jim Parsons and Mark Hamill able to hold a candle to the performances of Will Ferrell and James Caan? Due to life getting in the way prior to Julia departing for Florida on a family vacation, the elves came up one episode short to cover her absence! As such, there is obviously no new episode this week. However, we didn’t want to leave y’all hanging, so we’ve decided to share one of our Patreon-Exclusive “Christmas Movie Commentaries” segments with y’all! In our “Christmas Movie Commentaries”, the elves provide a commentary as they gather to watch one of the marquee Christmas films that everyone loves – in this instance, “Elf”. The hosts will count you down and let you know when to press play on whatever device on which you’re watching your movie, but if you just want to listen and not watch along, this is still a fun episode to brighten your week with a bit of holiday cheer! So settle in, queue up that Blu-Ray player, and enjoy a trip through the Candy Cane forest to New York City with your favorite elves!

It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another episode of Tis the Podcast! This week, the elves are taking a trip across the pond (and back in time) to cover the Christmas episodes of one of Thom’s favorite tv shows, “The Vicar of Dibley” – a show that follows the townspeople of Dibley who reluctantly grow to accept and love Geraldine Granger as their local vicar.  These episodes follow some tropes common to many holiday specials, but is the vicar able to add enough of a unique spin on them to win over the hearts of Julia and Anthony? How will a new Christmas carol from Dibley sit with the elves?
