“Another Christmas Story” – Chapter Twenty-Two – Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer – As Read By Jay Skipworth Of “Film Strip Podcast”

Tis the Podcast

Happy Leon Day, Christmas Fanatics! We are officially halfway to the big day itself! As of tomorrow, we will be closer to Christmas 2021 than Christmas 2020, and if that’s not something for us to celebrate and get excited about, we don’t know what is!

As a special treat to celebrate the occasion, Julia, Thom, and Anthony gather around their mics to discuss the 2014, American, stop-motion animated, Christmas musical television special, “Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas“! How does this adaptation of the Broadway musical that adapted the beloved movie that remains number one on Tis the Podcast’s Christmas canon list four-years in hold up to the original story? Is it filled with holiday cheer, or does this sap all joy from the proceedings? Are Jim Parsons and Mark Hamill able to hold a candle to the performances of Will Ferrell and James Caan? The answers to these questions, and much more, can be found in this extraordinarily fun episode! So blast that air-conditioning to simulate that ‘Ber Month weather, sit back, and enjoy this festive treat!

And if you can’t get enough Christmas during the summer, be sure to check our Patreon (www.tisthepodcast.com/patreon) for more bonus content, plus the next installment of Anthony’s audiobook, “Another Christmas Story” which will drop in your feeds on Thursday – this week, read by the awesome Jay Skipworth of “Film Strip Podcast“!

Christmas Movie Commentaries Preview - Elf!

Due to life getting in the way prior to Julia departing for Florida on a family vacation, the elves came up one episode short to cover her absence! As such, there is obviously no new episode this week. However, we didn’t want to leave y’all hanging, so we’ve decided to share one of our Patreon-Exclusive “Christmas Movie Commentaries” segments with y’all! In our “Christmas Movie Commentaries”, the elves provide a commentary as they gather to watch one of the marquee Christmas films that everyone loves – in this instance, “Elf”. The hosts will count you down and let you know when to press play on whatever device on which you’re watching your movie, but if you just want to listen and not watch along, this is still a fun episode to brighten your week with a bit of holiday cheer! So settle in, queue up that Blu-Ray player, and enjoy a trip through the Candy Cane forest to New York City with your favorite elves!

And don’t worry, next Monday we’ll be back with a brand new episode in which we’re joined by Todd Killian of “Christmas Clatter” to discuss the 2007 film, “Christmas in Wonderland” (his choice of film) and this upcoming Thursday with the next chapter of “Another Christmas Story” which Steven Beech, a.k.a. Disco54, will be reading to y’all!

It’s Monday, which means it’s time for another episode of Tis the Podcast! This week, the elves are taking a trip across the pond (and back in time) to cover the Christmas episodes of one of Thom’s favorite tv shows, “The Vicar of Dibley” – a show that follows the townspeople of Dibley who reluctantly grow to accept and love Geraldine Granger as their local vicar.  These episodes follow some tropes common to many holiday specials, but is the vicar able to add enough of a unique spin on them to win over the hearts of Julia and Anthony? How will a new Christmas carol from Dibley sit with the elves?

Cozy up next to the A/C vent or poolside with a nice mug of iced tea and enjoy!

And if you can’t get enough Christmas during the summer, be sure to check our Patreon (tisthepodcast.com/patreon) for more bonus content, PLUS the next installment of Anthony’s audiobook, “Another Christmas Story” – this week, read by Tim Babb of “Can’t Wait for Christmas” – which drops in your main feeds this upcoming Thursday!

Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! And Happy Memorial Day to all of our American listeners! We hope you’re having a great long weekend! Can you believe we’re already at the end of May?

This week, join Julia, Thom, and Anthony as they catch up with beleaguered, former NYPD officer, John McClane, as he takes on a bunch of terrorists at a snowy airport on Christmas Eve in 1990’s “Die Hard 2″! While the original “Die Hard” is a constant subject of debate regarding whether or not it’s a Christmas movie, the elves felt its immediate follow-up undeservedly gets lost in the conversation! How does this compare to the first in terms of holiday feelings? Should this be considered more of a Christmas staple than its predecessor? Our hosts discuss all of this and much, much, much more in this extremely fun, quote-filled episode that will immediately transport you back to the ’80s.

So blast that air-conditioning to simulate those ‘Ber month temperatures, settle back with your favorite summer drink, and enjoy, y’all!
