From lovable elves and holiday heroes to unforgettable Christmas movie icons, the guys reveal their dream travel companions and explain exactly why each character made the guest list.

Would Buddy the Elf dominate a beach vacation? Could Kevin McCallister plan the ultimate resort itinerary? Which Christmas movie character would make the perfect travel buddy? You’ll have to listen to find out!

🎅 PLUS… a very merry surprise guest arrives!

That’s right — Santa J. Claus himself drops by the show to give an exclusive update straight from the North Pole, share what the elves have been up to during the offseason, and join the guys for a few spins of the legendary:

🎡 WINTER WHEEL OF WONDERMINT 🎡

As always, the wheel delivers festive surprises, holiday debates, and plenty of Christmas cheer.

Eric, Danny, and Producer Chris also catch up on life since the last episode, read messages from the incredible Christmas Countdown community, and get delightfully sidetracked by random holiday (and non-holiday) banter along the way.

Whether you’re counting down the days until Christmas 2026 or just looking for a little mid-year Christmas magic, this Dasher Day celebration is packed with enough holiday spirit to carry you all the way to December.

Tis the Podcast

Happy Thursday, Christmas Fanatics! And Happy Leon Day! Can you believe that, as of today, we are *officially* Halfway to Christmas 2026? We sure can’t! It’s all downhill from here!

To celebrate the occasion, please enjoy this special bonus episode in which Julia and Anthony once again gather to discuss their favorite “Saturday Night Live” Christmas skits that didn’t make their list the last time they talked to the iconic sketch show! They each picked five, which means this episode is full of tons of laughs!

Additionally, the two discuss their Top Ten Christmas films that have released since the film “Elf“, and surprisingly, only three films out of twenty are common to both lists!

Also discussed: the news that Jim Carrey is in talks to reprise his iconic role of the Grinch in a live-action sequel to the beloved 2000 movie, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas“!

Trust us when we say, this is one fun, festive episode that serves as the perfect way to mark the fact we are only six months away from Christmas Day!

So settle back, relax, and enjoy! And, as always, thanks for your love and support, y’all!🎅🏻🎄🎁 🦌🦉⛄️🚂🔔 🤶🏻 🎀 ❄️

Festive Fans Unite! (send us a message)

What better way for the Festive Fans to celebrate the end of our third season, than by abandoning the snow-covered streets, roaring fireplaces, and winter landscapes of most holiday movies, books and songs to travel down south.  It is June, so we are off to a place known for its tropical warmth, rich cultural heritage and vibrant holiday music and dancing.  We wanted a party-like atmosphere, so we have selected a country that blends Spanish, Indigenous, African, and Caribbean influences, creating a unique and different Christmas experience.  Despite the warm temperatures, the merry atmosphere here is just as festive.

We are in the Republic of Panama, the southernmost country in Central America. While the country is known for its famous canal, Panama is also a natural land bridge, connecting South and Central America. Because of its unique geography, plant and animal life from both continents flourish here.  Its biodiversity is one of the richest in the world, three times higher than the United State, Canada and Europe combined, with more than 10,000 plant species, 200 mammal species, and more than 1,000 bird species.

What is perhaps not so colorful is the Panamanian indie movie we watched, The Family Tree.  This film aims to be a classic Christmas tale but ends up more like a formulaic melodrama with acting akin to a soap opera.  The film and the story are so weak, they create a negative impression of the country.  However, with Panama’s natural beauty, friendly people, and unique holiday traditions, it is almost enough to offset the 131 minutes of tedium before we get back to the celebrating.

The lively music does help.  “Os Almirantes” is a Panamanian ska punk and rock band, and we listen to their popular Christmas song, “Merry Christmas Panama”, released in 2020. The song captures the genuine spirit and rhythms of Panama, referencing family preparations, holiday foods, and midnight fireworks. Music plays such an essential part of Christmas in Panama, as dancing and lively parties continue late into the night, with traditional folk music, salsa, and popular holiday songs.

Obviously, The Family Tree should not define our perception of Panama. The true spirit of Christmas can be found anywhere in the world, no matter the weather or their movies. By looking beyond the screen, we discover a country that is worth exploring and celebrating with its breathtaking scenery, deep musical history, and vibrant cultural diversity.

Seasons Eatings

What if one of Trinidad’s most beloved Christmas foods could tell the story of an entire island?

Wrapped in a simple banana leaf, this dessert might look humble at first glance. But hidden inside is a history that stretches back centuries—long before Christmas arrived in the Caribbean.

In this episode, we’ll uncover the remarkable journey of this sweet cornmeal delicacy, tracing its roots through Indigenous food traditions, the cultural transformations of the colonial Caribbean, and the generations of families who made it a treasured part of the Christmas season. We’re exploring the history and origins of paime.

Tis the Podcast

Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! We hope all the dads out there had a great Father’s Day!

This week, Julia and Anthony discuss the extended “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” Christmas episode (released as a standalone DVD back in 2009 before airing in two parts on television to cap off Season 6), “A Very Sunny Christmas“!

For anyone familiar with this show, this should go without saying, but this episode contains language that could be considered offensive, as well as a lot of swearing – in the context of quoting the special. And that warning alone should give you an idea of what Julia thought of this show, which she has never seen before! Is Anthony a fan though? You’ll have to tune in to find out! Even if he is though, whether or not this episode has a Linus moment or is a bonafide holiday hit is another question!

Also discussed this episode: Gabe’s Birthday, “Disclosure Day”, Jameson the dog (may he Rest in Peace), AI and how we treat it, and much, much more. This is one fun, festive installment of the podcast you definitely don’t want to miss!

So settle back, relax, and, as always, enjoy! Thanks for your love and support, y’all! 🎅🏻🎄🎁 🦌🦉⛄️🚂🔔 🤶🏻 🎀 ❄️
