This week Joe and Bradford discuss the 1953 film I, The Jury, the film debut of Mickey Spillane’s hard-nosed detective character Mike Hammer. In this film, Hammer vows to hunt down his best friend’s killer, which leads him on a wild goose chase through the snow-covered streets of New York City.

Hooray for Christmas.

We start off with the Christmas Quiz and we have an extra question so I can shoehorn in a great joke.

Then our Self-Appointed Podcast Barman Bob Baker discusses the word Trolley.

This episode’s version of A Christmas Carol is ‘A Christmas Carol: Scrooge’s Ghostly Tale’ a naff computer animated version from 2006.

Then Bob returns with Christmas Everyday and gives us another suggestion on how to keep Christmas all year long.

Then we look at Sinterklaas.  He’s the Dutch version of Santa Claus.  You won’t see any reindeer, but you will see a white horse.

Our recommendation is All Your Christmases a podcast hosted by Calum Crosthwaite. Each episode he interviews a guest about their Christmas memories, covering many years and many countries it’s well worth a listen.

Welcome to episode 75 of Holly Jolly X’masu! In this episode, I’ll be talking about Chris Hart’s 2022 album, “Christmas Hearts 2.”

I hope you enjoyed this second look at Chris Hart’s music. Like I said last year, I really admire the way he followed his dream and turned it into a successful career in Japan.

Be sure to join me in March as I cover a pair of fantastic female artists for Women’s History Month. Up first is Hideko Kojima’s “Christmas On Hammond – Jingle Bells” from 1970. It’s a fun, funky album that really exceeded my expectations. Then join me on the 25th as I talk about the Christmas music of Mieko Hirota. She was one of the biggest female pop stars of the 60s and influenced some of the biggest artists in the Japanese music industry.
