Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! And Happy First Day of July! We’re barreling ever-closer to those ‘Ber Months with more than a few big milestones along the way to be hit this month! How exciting is that?

Less exciting is the film the elves are covering this week: the 2023 Netflix Original Movie, “Family Switch“! While they thought they escaped the worst-of-the-worst content after clawing their way out of June’s “Bad Sequels” month, this movie certainly didn’t make them feel that way; it even elicited a rant from Anthony the likes of which you haven’t heard since our “Ernest Saves Christmas” episode! But is the movie really that bad? Is there any semblance of heart or holiday cheer to make this one worth watching? Well, you’ll just have to tune in to find out! One thing’s for certain though: regardless of the film’s quality, this is yet another fun, festive episode of “Tis the Podcast” you want to be sure not to miss!

Since we didn’t get a chance to record a bonus Fourth of July episode this year, we’re releasing an episode that was originally intended to drop on Patreon instead! (Hence the explicit tag for language!) Think of it as a special “Summerween” treat, as it’s an episode that covers a movie that takes place in July, but it’s a horror film as well! It’s also timely given the fact that the movie “MaXXXine” is releasing later this week, and this is the first installment of that trilogy!

Anthony is joined by his friend, Cookie, to discuss the Ti West/A24 2022 film, “X“! This movie, which first introduced the world to Mia Goth’s already iconic Maxine Minx, features a group of actors that set out to make an adult film in rural Texas under the noses of the reclusive hosts of the farm they’re staying at. However, when the elderly couple catches their young guests in the act, the cast finds themselves in a desperate fight for their lives.

Listen as Anthony and Cookie dive deep into the plot of this modern horror classic, explore its themes of aging and lost opportunities, laugh over the absurdity of the plot, which features two eighty-year-old slashers the script tries to convince us are formidable, and much, much more!
