He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special (w/ Mike, Jeff, Anthony, and Chad)

What’s up, dudes? Now that Masters of the Universe is out in theaters, we’re gonna have a watch-along party for the Filmation classic “He-Man and She-Ra: A Christmas Special”. I’ve got Mike Westfall from Advent Calendar House, Jeff Loftin from Lost Christmas podcast, Anthony Caruso from ‘Tis the Podcast, and Chad Young from Horror Movie BBQ with me to provide commentary and enjoy the ride!

The Filmation special begins with Orko accidentally blasting off in the Sky Spy and crash-landing on Earth, where he meets Miguel and Alisha. Before long, the kids and their Christmas tree are transported back to Eternia, and Horde Prime decides the Christmas spirit is dangerous enough to require immediate villainous intervention. Naturally, Skeletor and Hordak both want the reward.

The joy of the episode is watching the cosmic toy-commercial universe collide with sincere Christmas messaging. He-Man and She-Ra punch through danger, the villains compete, the kids explain Christmas, and Skeletor discovers that warmth, puppies, and holiday goodwill might be harder to resist than Castle Grayskull itself.

Orko in a spaceship? Check. Earth kids stranded on Eternia? Got ’em. Skeletor not being nice or  kind or wonderful? Not even! Even! So raise your Power Sword, hop on Swift Wind, and celebrate Christmas across dimensions with this He-Man & She-Ra episode!

Happy Tuesday, Christmas Fanatics! Apologies for being a day late with this episode, but we had some issues trying to schedule it yesterday! Better late than never though, right?

This week, in honor of the brand new, live action, “Masters of the Universe” movie hitting theaters (which you’ll hear Anthony gush all about at the beginning of this episode), Julia and Anthony sit down to talk 1985’s “He-Man and She-Ra- A Christmas Special“!

With Anthony being a lifelong fan of “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” and Julia being a live long fan of “She-Ra: Princess of Power“, both have a lot of nostalgia wrapped up in this Christmas special, which – spoiler alert – they absolutely love. It’s a nostalgic trip for both of them, which resulted in a festive, fun, laugh-a-minute episode for all of y’all!
