Best of Christmas Podcasts 2023
After months of nominations and voting, online and offline, we are pleased to announce winners in our 3rd Annual Best of Christmas Podcasts Awards.
Best Christmas Podcast
For the second year running, the Sleigh Bells & Mistletoe Podcast was voted the best overall Christmas podcast, narrowly defeating other big vote-getters from the Can’t Wait for Christmas Podcast, Tis the Podcast and the Christmas Morning Podcast.
Best Christmas Foods Podcast
Also for the second year in a row, the Seasons Eatings Podcast by Glenn Warren was enthusiastically supported by listeners. This consistent offering tells us the stories behind the foods of Christmas as well as expert advice in creating the best of holiday treats.
Best Christmas History Podcast
Now a three-time winner of the Best of Christmas Podcasts, Brian Earl’s Christmas Past Podcast engagingly explores the stories, histories and traditions of Christmas Past.
Best Christmas Humor and Cheer Podcast
Totally Rad Christmas wins the cheer award AGAIN, thanks to rabid fans who can’t get enough of the fun of Christmas found on this podcast. The Can’t Wait for Christmas podcast and Total Christmas podcast were once again stiff competition in this category.
Best Christmas Movie Podcast
Behind the Bells has steadily grown their audience and the Christmas podcasting efforts and it shows as it snags its first community recognition as the Best Christmas Movie podcast. There is no other category more competitive than this one with more than 10 other high vote-getters.
Best Christmas Music Podcast
In perhaps the largest increase in votes overall than any other category those votes were dominated by another 3-time winner, the Sounds of Christmas. Tinsel Tunes, Merry Britsmas and Sleigh Bells & Mistletoe podcasts all scored very high in this category.
Best Christmas Stories Podcast
Christmas Stories as a category was interpreted by listeners diversely. Some, like Christmas Past, could be expected to get votes. But stories of Christmas are told by many, both fiction and non-fiction, and the Christmas Clatter Podcast was identified by voters this year as the best Christmas stories podcast.
Best Christmas Television Podcast
Gaining more new votes than any other podcast this year is a long-time contender and now first-time winner, Merry Britsmas. Christmas Television is covered by a lot of podcasts but it was the British perspective most appreciated this year in this category.
Best New Christmas Podcast
Making its debut just before Christmas last year the Christmas Sessions podcast captured the most votes as the Best New Christmas Podcast.
Best Children and Family Christmas Podcast
Powered by the year-round North Pole production of SantaUpdate.com, the North Pole Podcast scores it’s third straight Best of Christmas podcast award through its ongoing podcast series about Santa, the North Pole and elf life.
Community Choice Award
The runaway favorite in votes online and offline came from the rabid fans of the Sleigh Bells & Mistletoe podcast. Rikki and Mary’s coverage of Christmas news, trends and guest experts on a variety of Christmas topics continues to engage Christmas enthusiasts across the Internet.

We’re joined by the one-and-only Patrick from Lifetime Uncorked.
He’s a true expert when it comes to all things Lifetime, and we’ll delve into his journey, his podcast, his day job (if he has one), and his top picks for Lifetime’s upcoming holiday movie lineup.
Our beloved festive freshman, Cousin Seth, is in for a wild ride as Patrick takes him on a whirlwind tour through the whimsical world of Lifetime holiday movies.
It’s going to be a journey full of laughs, surprises, and aha moments. Because, let’s face it, Seth knows about as much about Lifetime’s festive flicks as he does about juggling flaming yule logs!
But that’s what the Christmas Cousins are all about—exploration, discovery, and spreading the holiday cheer.
So, cozy up with some hot cocoa, hang up your mistletoe, and get ready for a show that’ll have you ho-ho-ho-ing with laughter and maybe even picking up a few new holiday favorites along the way.

In honor of Christmas Podcast Day, Robert is stepping into the Delorean to take the time jump to 1991. He does a little deep dive into the Back to the Future animated series and the Christmas episode that was produced, “Dickens of a Christmas”. While the Back to the Future trilogy is Robert’s all time favorite set of movies, the animated series is a mixed bag… and Dickens of a Christmas is not a better one.
There’s still a lot to take in from a story about Ebenezer Tannon getting a visit from a ghostly Marty on a hoverboard, Doc recusing his boys Jules and Verne from a Sykes-like figure, and taking the Delorean to Victorian England.
Robert also explores the cartoon’s history and how the same team from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures were tasked with briging another time travel series to life.

One can’t go through the holiday season without hearing, seeing, or listening to a version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.” It is often held up to be one of the quintessential markers of the traditional holiday meal. I’ve talked about some of the food in the story and how it may have come from America.
Ken from the Sounds of Christmas welcomes you to the new season, and introduces you to the singers and bands that have made it possible (along with easy instructions on the three simple ways you can listen)!

🎄 After spending 3 months locked in a water tower, the Advent Calendar House has escaped in time for Christmas Podcast Day, a fake holiday originally made up for a hashtag back when social media was slightly less stupid.
It’s not Scrooge Sunday, but the theme for this year’s Christmas Podcast Day is “A Christmas Carol,” so I’m playing a long, but also cheating a little by covering both segments of a 1993 Christmas episode of “Animaniacs.”

Hello! Happy Christmas Podcast Day everyone! As all of us at the Christmas Podcast Network are talking about some of our favorite versions of A Christmas Carol, today I am going to look at a stage version – specifically I want to talk about how Charles Dickens performed a one man version of the novel, and how that carries on today through his Great Great Grandson, Gerald Dickens. I replay some clips from my interview with Gerald back in December 2020 where he talked about how he began to perform the Carol 30 years ago. I recommend you go and take a listen to the full episode!
