Tis the Podcast

Happy Wednesday, Christmas fanatics! Welcome to the thirty-ninth official installment of “Another Christmas Story”!

In this installment, the amazing Danielle and Jackie of “No More Late Fees” will read to y’all Chapter Thirty-Eight of our tale entitled, “Please Come Home For Christmas“! Full disclosure, we fully meant to drop this one last week – Anthony had recorded the intro. and outro. for this episode prior to going on vacation, and Danielle and Jackie had gotten their recording to him in plenty of time to edit and put it all together, but while on vacation, time just got away from the Christmas Podcast Network’s resident New Yorker and it never got posted last week. So, as such, there’s no reference in the episode to this chapter dropping late or us actually being closer to Christmas than the countdown mentions at the end! But no matter, we hope you still enjoy it! If you do, make sure to share this episode and our website, upon which the text of this installment is posted, to get it in front of as many ears and eyes as possible!

Coming up on the show this upcoming Monday, November 1st, we will be dropping our episode covering the infamous film, “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians”! And dropping in your feeds on Monday, November 8th, we’ll be dropping our episode in which we discuss Season 2, Episode 4 of “Ted Lasso” entitled “Carol of the Bells”!  Meanwhile, tomorrow – on Thursday, October 29th – you’ll get this week’s official installment of “Another Christmas Story”, Chapter Thirty-Nine entitled “Santa Baby”, which will be brought to life for you by the author of the book himself, our very own Anthony! (That’s right – you’re getting two chapters of the book this week! There are perks of missing a week!) So, keep your eyes on your podcast feeds because there’s lots of great stuff coming up!

Enjoy, y’all! 🎅🏻🎄🎁 🦌🦉⛄️🚂🔔 🤶🏻 🎀 ❄️

Title: ”Another Christmas Story” – Chapter Thirty-Eight – Please Come Home For Christmas – As Read By Danielle And Jackie Of ”No More Late Fees”

We conclude Home For The Horrordays with James Wan’s The Conjuring 2! Set against the chilly backdrop of Christmas, Conjuring 2 is based on the Enfield Poltergeist, a true haunting case from the late 1970s in which a ghost supposedly haunted a single mother and her four children living in the north of London.

And joining us this week is our old pal Dr. Nick! Last heard on our Black Christmas episode, Nick returns to help us break down all the spooks, scares and general quackery going on here. Also this week, we taste test some disgusting holiday candy, Johnny-5 slams a Four Loko and, well… You can guess where things go from there…

Halloween is nearly here and we are back on the TGI Podcast covering a 90s staple: Home Improvement. This week, Matt is joined by a pair of his friends, Scott and Ben, to cover ‘Crazy For You’ from the show’s third season.

This episode is full of a ton of laughs and Ben recalls a story about meeting Jonathan Taylor Thomas that is most certainly worth the listen! They also discuss why Jill was making a turkey in the middle of the week, why the kids played such a small role on this episode and what really makes Tim the “King of Halloween”.

Be sure to leave us a review if you haven’t already and we will send you a free TGI Podcast sticker! Also keep your eyes open for a special bonus episode this week featuring a very special Elf from one of our favorite podcasts.

Seasons Eatings

In Greece the biggest Christmas preparation is not so much about decorating the house, but preparing the food. Characteristically the biggest part of the house decorations are the huge plates of cookies and desserts that are displayed all around the house. The traditional Christmas cookies and their variations are placed in very prominent places and free for all to have! This sweet cookie has a somber history but is now the major cookie to be served during the holidays.  We’re exploring the history and origins of melomakarona.

Welcome to episode 31 of Holly Jolly X’masu! In this episode, I talk about Ohashi Trio’s 2013 album, “Magic.”

When I first got this CD, I listened to it repeatedly for a couple weeks. I thought it was fantastic. I did slightly regret the fact that I couldn’t get the DVD, as I’d have liked to have seen the short film, “Tree House.” Unfortunately, not only could I not get the DVD, but I’ve yet to see the video turn up online. The video for “Magic” appears to have been made from footage from “Tree House,” or at least shot concurrently, so you can get something of a feel for the film.

Unlike the bulk of the albums I’ve covered, I was able to find videos for nearly every song on the album. The only one missing is “Hallelujah.”

Thanks for listening, and I hope you enjoyed Ohashi Trio as much as I did. Be sure to listen in next week to my special Halloween episode where I discuss the 1978 sci-fi thriller, “Blue Christmas – Blood Type: Blue,” and its soundtrack.

As always, any feedback on this episode would be appreciated. If have any suggestions, or if you’d like to recommend a song or album for a future episode, drop me a line and let me know.

Remember, I’ve added a button to my Ko-fi page. If you’d like to support me one cup of coffee at a time, a donation is only $3. I’ve also opened a Redbubble store. I only have a couple designs up, but keep an eye on it as I’ll be trying to add more. Any proceeds or donations received will be put towards purchasing new Japanese Christmas music to review for future episodes. You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And if you get a chance, leave me a review on iTunes. Thanks!
