Apologies about the sound quality on this episode, my voice sounds canned almost. I wasn’t able to fix it in this episode but will for Part 3 of this series!

In today’s episode we explore the history of snowmen in art, politics, and expression. We also briefly touch on the Yeti, shallowly diving in to the origins and history. Lastly, we conclude with Part 2 of our Lost Years of Santa Claus story. I hope you enjoy!

Happy Thursday, Christmas fanatics! Welcome to the twenty-eight official installment of “Another Christmas Story“!

In this week’s official episode,  Sean Sotka of “The Christmas Podcasts Podcast” will read to all of you Chapter Twenty-Seven of our tale, entitled “Joy to the World”. Within this chapter, we switch points-of-view between the President and her entourage and Emily and Noah, as the journalism students finally get the opportunity to land an interview with the leader of the free world! We hope you like it! If you do, make sure to share this episode and our website, upon which the text of this installment is posted, to get it in front of as many ears and eyes as possible! And make sure to check your feeds today for last week’s official installment of “Another Christmas Story” – Chapter Twenty-Six, entitled “Hark the Herald Angel Sing”, as read by Adam Parker Sibun of “Merry Britmas“! (Hopefully you already saw it and listened to that one first, as it precedes this one!)

Coming up on the show this upcoming Monday, August 9th, we will be dropping a once Patreon-exclusive of the show as – once again – life got in the way for the elves, and they didn’t have time to record an episode this week! And on Tuesday, August 10th, the elves will gather to discuss the 2006 film, “Last Holiday“! Before that drops in your feeds on Monday, August 16th, however, on Thursday, August 12th, you’ll get to hear Chapter 28 of “Another Christmas Story” entitled “The First Noel”, which Robert Nickerson of “Behind the Bells” will be reading to y’all! So, keep your eyes on your podcast feeds because there’s lots of great stuff coming up!

Happy August, Christmas Fanatics! We’re one month closer to our favorite time of year and the elves couldn’t be more excited!

To kick off the last stretch of summer before the Ber Months (!!!), Anthony, Julia, and Thom are joined by Gerry D of “Totally Rad Christmas” for another double feature of an episode in which we cover the Christmas episodes of HBO’s critically acclaimed comedy series “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (Season 3, Episode 9, “Mary, Joseph, and Larry”) and TruTV’s hit-comedy “I’m Sorry” (Season 2, Episode 4, “Couple’s Massage”). As you can imagine from the shows discussed, this episode is definitely not  be the most appropriate one for tiny ears – no matter how much we attempt to tiptoe around certain subject matter – so do your best to keep yourself on the nice list and listen away from any children who might be around! Enjoy, y’all!.

Woo hoo!  Here we are for another wonderful episode.

We have the harrowing tale of how Lee Maher, the shows number 1 fan, found out the truth about Santa, plus also how his brother found out.

Then we have an interview with Robert Nicholas from Behind The Bells Podast who lists his 10 favourite films of all time, and then I judge the list.
If you’re not listening to Behind The Bells check it out:
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/behind-the-bells-podcast/id1543653907

Then we have the first of our brand new segments, Obscure Traditions with Frank the Tank.
Our new correspondent, Frank the Tank, sends me ideas for topics to discus.  This episode we’re talking about the first ever TV Yule Log.

Then it’s our second new segment, Yule Logs.  In an attempt to revive everyone’s favourite jingle I have my weakest segment yet where I review one of the dozens of TV Yule Logs. This episode I review the first ever one from WPIX-TV.
If you’re fed up of watching paint dry then check it out:

This week’s recommendation is to make sure you’ve planned out your whole podcast before recording it.

We’ve come to the final chapter of The Christmas Hirelings by Mary Elizabeth Braddon! It’s a tear jerker for sure… or is just me?

In this chapter, when Moppet is struck dangerously ill (as so frequently happens to children in Victorian literature), Sir John must come to terms with his love for the little girl. They are not sure whether Moppet will live or die, and then the children’s mother shows up… and Sir John’s life may never be the same again.

Grab some eggnog and box of kleenex… and enjoy this cozy Victorian Christmas story!

See you all in August!

Welcome to episode 32 of Holly Jolly X’masu! In this episode, I wrap up my coverage of Ryoko Moriyama with 1981’s “The Christmas Album – Greetings from Ryoko Moriyama.”

The Christmas Album – Greetings from Ryoko Moriyama – 1981

It’s been a real pleasure presenting these albums to you. Like a lot of these artists, I wasn’t familiar with Ryoko Moriyama before discovering her Christmas albums. She’s truly been one of the high points in my collecting and podcasting journey.

Naotaro Moriyama – Wasremono – 2001

Thanks for listening, and I hope you’ve enjoyed Ryoko Moriyama’s music as much as I have. I hope this month’s episodes have also helped you enjoy your Christmas in July. I’d wanted to get them out a little earlier, but unexpected delays pushed them back to the last half of the month. Be sure to listen in next month as I discuss Zen Records’ “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” from 1984. It’s one of the more eclectic Christmas compilations from the 80s and and you don’t want to miss it.

As always, any feedback on this episode would be appreciated. If have any suggestions, or if you’d like to recommend a song or album for a future episode, drop me a line and let me know.

Remember, I’ve added a button to my Ko-fi page. If you’d like to support me one cup of coffee at a time, a donation is only $3. Any donations received will be put towards purchasing new Japanese Christmas music to review for future episodes. You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And if you get a chance, leave me a review on iTunes. Thanks!
