Happy Monday, Christmas Fanatics! We hope you’re all having a wonderful July as we barrel ever closer to our beloved ‘Ber Months!
To kick off the week, Julia, Thom, and Anthony journey back to Sesame Street – despite the fact that nobody seemed to be able to tell us how to get there! – to cover the 1996 film, “Sesame Street: Elmo Saves Christmas“! Elmo isn’t any of our hosts favorite resident of Sesame Street, but does the fact that he’s the focal point of this story derail this special for them? And can they get through an entire episode featuring the Muppets without their good friend Mike Westfall of “Advent Calendar House” demanding retractions and apologies?! You’ll just have to tune in to find out!
So, settle back, blast that air conditioning, and enjoy this festive treat which is sure to serve as the perfect kickoff to your week! And keep your eyes open this upcoming Thursday, July 25th, for a very special, bonus Christmas in July episode in your feeds!
As always, thanks for your love and support, y’all! ❤️🎅🏻🎄🎁 🦌🦉⛄️🔔🚂 🤶🏻 🎀 ❄️

What’s up, dudes? Duane from Tinsel Tunes is here with me to talk about the 1984 Christmas mega hit “Last Christmas” by Wham! This catchy tune still holds a spot on most terrestrials radio playlists to this day!
Wham! soared onto the charts in ‘84 with several memorable pop songs when George Michael dreamed about having a Christmas hit. One day, while watching football, the melody came to him. Of course, he ran upstairs to his room to record it his idea, and by the end of the night, he had written a killer tune!
Featuring melodic synths and steady drum machines, the final song competed with Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” for the UK Christmas #1. The music video boasts cinematic scenery, and tells the story of a jilted love. Of course, it ultimately lost the battle for #1, but Wham! donated the proceeds to famine relief efforts anyway.
Poppy synthesizers? Check. Ugly Christmas jumpers? Got ‘em. Ski resort meet up with your ex and her new boyfriend? Well… so grab your skis, settle in for a cozy Christmas, and jam out to this episode on “Last Christmas!”

🎄It’s 1990… or 1962… and a quantum physicist forgot to powder his boss’s underwear.
This Scrooge Sunday edition of the Advent Calendar House involves time travel of a different sort as we follow Dr. Sam Beckett on a mission to save a mission, and the soul of the man trying to tear it down.
* CONTENT WARNING: This episode briefly discusses the death of actor Charles Rocket and the would-be death of his Scrooge-like character, Michael Blake.

It’s another episode with me, your lovely host.
We open the show with a Christmas Not So Classic. It’s called Christmas Isn’t Christmas and it’s from Bon Jovi. It was only released last year but I hadn’t heard a thing about it.
Have a listen here:
Then Bob Baker is here to look at why us Brits called Bachelor Party a Stag Do, in Do You Hear What I Hear.
Then it’s The Quiz, and don’t panic, we’re back to doing it the good old way. I scored a measily 6, but it’s not an easy one.
After that Bob returns with Spread A Smile of Joy, and why not literally spread a smile with a bit of humour in your daily interactions.
This episode’s version of A Christmas Carol is The Stingiest Man in Town starring Basil Rathbone and it’s okay I suppose.
You can watch it here:

We watched and reviewed the 1986 classic, “Santa Bear’s First Christmas”.
And you’re now probably asking the same thing we keep asking ourselves is…why?
Frankly, we are still not sure…
Anyway, on this episode, we try to get to the bottom of why Gerry chose this special, what we loved, disliked about it and did we bail halfway through.
And, of course, what lessons we all learned from it…it’s an ’80s Christmas special after all…there’s always a lesson in there somewhere!
But seriously, why are we reviewing this?!?
Audience Question:
Are you a big Santa Bear fan? Have you seen this? What are your thoughts?

Welcome to episode 117 of Holly Jolly X’masu! In this episode, I talk about the Christmas music from the obscure Group Sounds band, Takehisa Kono and the Highways.
I hope you enjoyed the Highways’ Christmas music. One of the things I enjoy most about collecting Japanese Christmas music is that there’s such a wealth of it to discover. The sonojournals and flexi-discs add another entire layer to it. Almost none of the music that was exclusively released on flexi-disc ever made it to vinyl or CD, and there is very little reliable documentation about them. It’s always exciting when I find something new. I have plenty of other flexi-discs to cover including some of the scarcest and most sought-after flexis.
Be sure to listen in on the 25th for my 5th annual Christmas in July special. I have some really great tropical and summery Christmas songs lined up, and you’re sure to enjoy them.
As always, any feedback on this episode would be appreciated. If have any suggestions, or if you’d like to recommend a song or album for a future episode, drop me a line and let me know.
Remember, I’ve added a button to my Ko-fi page. If you’d like to support me one cup of coffee at a time, a donation is only $3. I’ve also opened a Redbubble store. I only have a couple designs up, but keep an eye on it as I’ll be trying to add more. Half of any proceeds or donations received will be donated to support the people of Ukraine, while the rest will be used to purchase new Japanese Christmas music to review for future episodes. You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. And if you get a chance, leave me a review on iTunes. Thanks!

What’s up, dudes? The Christmas release “Clue” is soooo good that I have to cover it again! This time I’ve got Matt Spaulding from North Pole Radio and Ken Kessler from Sounds of Christmas with me to solve the mystery!
When six strangers are invited to a mysterious mansion for dinner, murder is on the menu. Mr. Boddy, the host, is blackmailing all of them, from the jealous wife to the adulterous doctor to the maid’s employer. One by one others arrive at the house only to be picked off as they’re implicated as blackmail accomplices. With three different endings, the movie answers the questions of who killed Mr. Boddy, and where, and with what.
The December release quickly became a cult classic. Jeff interviews cast and crew from Leslie Ann Warren and Michael McKean to director Jonathan Lynn. What was the enigmatic fourth ending? How did Jonathan Lynn end up writing the script? Why weren’t the characters wearing the colors of their game counterparts?
Blackmail? Yep. Murder? Of course. Flames on the side of my face? Only if Madeline Kahn is saying it. So grab your revolver, shoot the singing telegram, and run from room to room listening to this episode!
