Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe this is my 100th episode. It’s been a lot of work, but I’ve really enjoyed it. I want to thank you all for listening in, and I hope you’ve enjoyed it half as much as I have. I also hope Last Chance’s “Jingle Bells” really knocked your socks off. I can only imagine how awesome it would have been seeing them perform it live.

Then join me on the 25th as I talk about Mari Yoshiko’s “Singing Christmas Party” from 1962. It’s an album that doesn’t come up for sale often and it was a real struggle to finally get a copy. Both episodes should be a lot of fun, so be sure to listen in.

Harry is a scarred man. After witnessing Santa caress his mom in an inappropriate manner—not realizing it was his dad in costume—he has a mental break. Years later, the now adult Harry is obsessed with Santa, emotionally detached from his family, and promoted to toy factory manager. He spies on the neighborhood children to see who’s naughty or nice. While at an office Christmas party, a company donation scam finally cracks him, and he dresses up like and mentally becomes Santa. He steals company toys and donates them to a home for handicapped children. Then he murders his greedy colleagues. Consequently he’s chased by an angry mob, confronts his brother over his childhood trauma, and flees. His van falls off a bridge and…

Today I wrap up season 4 and Christmas 2023 with the kindness guru himself – Robert Peterpaul, host of the Art of Kindness Podcast, returns to talk about Christmas, the importance of showing kindness (love over fear for the win!) – and we digress into one of the most interesting conversations I’ve ever had about A Christmas Carol. And if that wasn’t enough for you, it’s a good thing this episode is supersized! We also gush about our amazing spouses, our fur babies, and more. Then I end the episode by reading a selection from A Christmas Carol.
This has been a great year for the podcast, but it’s also been a long one. So I’ll be taking a few extra weeks off from the podcast to rest, travel, and spend time with family. I’ll see you again in late January as we’ll begin Season 5!
Until then, let’s remember to honor Christmas in our hearts, and try to keep it all the year.
